Last Saturday Alan ran the annual St. Pattys day race in downtown Rochester. I wasn't sure how the kids would hold up watching but they did great, not sure how much the chocolate milk and Bagels had to do with it! It was a beautiful day thankfully- usually it is bitter cold which takes a lot of fun out of watching a race, but today was perfect weather. The kids were thrilled that even in the home stretch Daddy took the time to run by them and give them high 5's. To top it all off Alan ran his personal best for a 5 mile run! Not bad for a guy who works two jobs, helps take care of two kids and still finds time to get down on that treadmill every day, talk about commitment!
After the race we went to Dinosaur BBQ, which is my favorite restaurant- we managed to get in before the crowd and were served pretty quickly (a must with these two kids in tow). Frances was particularly fond of my pulled pork sandwich, Ephram prefers to stick with what he's comfortable with...grilled cheese.
I know Alan doesn't like to talk much about how he runs...but he seems to just keep getting faster and faster! In nice weather he runs with the two kids in the double jogging stroller- I'm convinced this makes racing much easier...taking away all that resistance! We are very proud of him and Ephram is eager to follow in his footsteps, he makes lap after lap around our downstairs giving us high 5's and asking us to chant "go Ephram go".
