Ephram

Well last week was Ephram's 4th birthday, exactly 3 years ago that date was our Visa appointment to finalize our adoption in Addis Ababa. It was just 3 days earlier on the 12th of December that we met Ephram for the first time. It seems so hard to believe that he has been in our arms for 3 years now. That first day he was such a tiny little guy, when we changed him for the first time we couldn't believe how small he was ( his head was deceiving!) now he is in 4T's, the first time his age and clothing size has ever matched, we now look at him and say "look how tall he is". When we met him he couldn't sit up by himself, bear weight on his legs or eat anything but baby cereal, now he is riding his new bike with training wheels and all "boy". Every night before we go to bed we both go up and kiss both kids goodnight, sometimes just stare at them for awhile. Very often I think that somewhere there is someone who will never have any idea what happened to Ephram...they don't know that he is incredibly smart, funny and of course handsome, that he brings so much joy to everyone who meets him with his beautiful smile, I wish somehow we could let them know that first of all he is safe, but also that he is loved and a cherished, son, big brother, grandson, great grandson, nephew and cousin. People say to us all the time how lucky Ephram is, and we always tell people that WE are lucky, if it weren't us, he would have been adopted by another nice family from here in the states who were working with our adoption agency at the time, but WE were the lucky ones who are able to call him our son and he made us a family.

Ephram is such a cutie! Elias has loved looking at his picture on your Christmas card. They are both quite the charmers. :-) And yes, it's hard to believe these boys are already 4 years old!
