what a difference!

Wow...cant even believe how different Noah is today!! First of all, lets talk about the food, anything I mentioned about the tongue control etc, not an issue today. At breakfast he insisted at sitting at the big chair next to me, I fed him a bowl and a 1/2 of congee which he managed very well, he finger fed himself a plate of cut up noodles and tons of fruit, then he got going on the spoon. He is insistent on trying to eat everything with a spoon including puffs which by the way he loves.
We were having some issues with the sippy cup we brought, he loves it and it has a soft spout but not soft enough as he has to grind his gums on it to get any liquid out. Another family gave us a sippy cup they werent using and it has a very soft spout, like a bottle so he just puts it in the corner of his mouth and gums it and he is getting liquids much better. Feeding is very messy...I am happy I brought alot of bibs, we keep one on him most of the time since after eating we are finding the food is still hanging out in there and comes out eventually.

After breakfast we went to finalize the adoption..in the eyes of the China Noah is now our son. We also exchanged gifts with the Orphanage director, she gave us a photo album of picture from when we sent his birthday cake as far back as some photos of him just a few days/weeks old! Him getting what may be his first bath and not liking it at all. They also gave us a beautiful silk embroidered purse and a Guangxi Love Ball which are made here in Guangxi Province.
We then went on the the notory to sign some more papers and then back to the hotel where Noah fell asleep in the car and then snoozed in the crib until lunchtime. we had lunch in our room and played for quite awhile. It was the first time we got to see him "play" and boy did he ever! He loved the large legos we brought and was very intentional about everything he did with them, also loved the stacking cups, the mini magna doodle and even coloring! Oh..and then he found the remote control-for both tvs, knows how to turn them on, change the channels...go back to the channel he wants!
He is "talking" all the time, no idea what he is saying as is mostly probably cantonese but also the cleft..who knows, but boy was he noisy! When he is happy he makes this cooing sound and he has another sound for when he wants something.
we went to the walmart superstore this afternoon, it was HUGE, just got a few toys and pull-ups because he is POTTY TRAINED! We had no idea...he does tell us when he needs to go and is now doing well with the western toilet. Today though he had a tummy ache and I had to take him to the squatty potty at the notory offices...it was not pretty, I had no idea how to manage this and to avoid dropping him in, I almost fell in myself, but we did it and now will try to use western toilets as much as possible.  So mom when you read this if you could start making a list of things we will need at home...underwear! probably 2-3T sized.
We used the ergo carrier at walmart and for the long walk there and he did great in it. Walmart was hot, crowded and the 4 of us parents tended to draw a crowd. I didnt really notice but in China it is not considered inpolite to stare, I mean stop everything you are doing and blatently stare...Alan said he felt like a freak show. Nanning does not see many westerners so we really stand out, that and we have a Chinese boy with a cleft with us so we are quite the attraction to people.
Today we are on our own and going to the minority museum  here as it is highly recommended, hopefully I will find some things from this province at the store there, I think we're also going to try the pool and maybe walk the park again. Alan is out running again this am, he is getting to see quite a bit of the city this way and glad to stay on his routine I'm sure!

Lastly- Noah skyped with the kids yesterday, the kids seemed not quite themselves at first but then were ok, since then Noah wants to see them again, in fact last night was so insistent I put the computer on that when I turned it off and took him into the bathroom to get him ready for the shower he cried for the first time, he really wants to skype again so this am he should be very happy when he gets to see the kids!

well thats all for today, again, sorry this is long but I want to use it as my journal too so may be including more info than most people care to read. Also I get up much earlier than Noah so have lots of time on my hands to type!

Oh, the one photo is of us with the director of Qinzhou Orphanage and one of the nannies there

Oh I'm so jealous. He's potty trained!!! I'm training two right now. It seems like he is doing awesome! We met the same nanny and orphanage director! Isn't it funny how people stop and stare. We traveled with a red head, a little bliong girl, and a guy that was about 6'7". People looked at us like we were from another planet!
